Receiving Shipments on Site

The George R. Brown Convention Center and the local Union have strict rules regarding unloading of freight at the loading docks. Anything being delivered on site at the loading docks must be unloaded and delivered by a local Union worker. This is primarily for the safety of all, as the docks are shared with other halls and forklift traffic is high.

The process of receiving your materials, either at the warehouse in advance of the show or at show site during move-in; delivering them to your booth; removing empty containers for storage during the show; returning the empty containers to your booth after the show; delivering your materials back to the dock; and loading for outbound shipping, is called material handling. Charges are determined by weight and ease of handling.

Cold shipments will not automatically be brought to your booth. To receive any temperature controlled product, you will need to schedule a delivery. You may schedule deliveries beforehand via the online exhibitor service kit or onsite by visiting the Heritage Exhibitor Service Desk or scanning the QR code at your booth. Exhibitors who wait to make appointments on the show site may have to wait up to an hour for their product to be delivered to their booth.

Material handling charges will be applied per delivery, by the hour. Please be sure to have a method of payment on file to avoid any delays.

Shipping Labels

Every piece of freight you send must have one of the three Heritage color coded labels, as well as any other labels from your chosen carrier. If these items need to be stored in refrigerated or frozen trailers on site, use one of the colored labels:

  • White: Dry/Booth Display
  • Blue: Frozen (Must ship direct to show site)
  • Gold: Refrigerated (Must ship direct to show site)

These samples will be accessible by visiting the Service Desk during show hours.

Personal Operated Vehicle (POV) Deliveries

Exhibitors are strongly encouraged to ship to the advanced warehouse listed in the exhibitor kit. Your freight will be waiting at your booth upon your arrival. POVs are allowed in the docks, but material handling charges still apply.

Exhibitors are allowed to hand carry their own small items into the convention center. Carts and dollies are allowed to come in the front of the exhibit hall, but all unloading and loading must be done in the parking garage. No unloading or loading can take place on the streets surrounding the building.
